In our spare time we have developed a travel website for mainly for Switzerland hotel bookings, but also for background information in the form of descriptions of the Switzerland regions and Swiss travel tips.
We really enjoyed developing our New Zealand travel website, in a way the Swiss one will keep us connected with Europe and we can finally post all of our travel photos from the old times when we used to explore even the last hidden valley in the beautiful Alps!

Maori settlement discovered on the Poor Knights Islands
Archaeologists have discovered a 200 year old 'time capsule of Maori life’ on the Poor Knights Islands off the Tutukaka Coast. An enemy tribe invaded the village while the men were at war elsewhere and slaughtered everyone that was left, since then the islands were tapu (sacred/off limits). Most of the land was used for gardening, fish and water were also abundant. Building structures, tools and artefacts can now be analysed, as can the bodies which have laid untouched since the raid.

New Tourleader New Zealand travel website
We have just published a New Zealand travel information website to help you better prepare your New Zealand trip.
"New Zealand is so big that it would take years of continuous travel to find all the highlights, there are many things that you simply won’t have time for. Instead of spending your time travelling from Stewart Island to Cape Reinga, what do you want to focus on, what shall be YOUR own highlights?"
Our goal with Tourleader New Zealand is to show the best possibilities in New Zealand and to offer the best reading material for the journey. We have already published information about the New Zealand landscape and its unique and interesting animals.
There will also be all of the basic information necessary to plan a holiday, such as:
We hope you can use it and have some fun reading. Keep checking, we'll update as much as we can over the next years.

Fishing at the Whangarei Heads
It was not possible to dodge this bullet and it finally happened, we went fishing! A neighbour with a bach in Taurikura took us out, put rods in our hands, and there's no way we wouldn't do it. What a fantastic trip that was! Gorgeous being out on the water, gentle swell, incredible colours, Bream Head as beautiful as the Poor Knights, saw a lazy penguin on the water, chased the schools with GPS and radar. Strangely, they didn't get one thing into the boat. Wendy had one after 2 minutes, then another 4. All too small. Urbi had 2, one snapper being a keeper! First time fishing and won the day! And we fried the poor thing for dinner.

News
Waitangi Day 2008:We had an excellent day celebrating the birthday of New Zealand! Surprisingly, not many Pakehas were to be seen, it felt like going back to the Polynesian roots of our country and it was great to see that Maoris adopted the celebrations and took the lead. We saw politicians, TV presenters and celebs and had the honour to witness a Powhiri for a Tuhoe delegation. We saw the wakas in the Bay and how they tugged them back under the roof. The Kapa Haka groups were singing and dancing. We were even given smoked eel, kumara and maori bread, and we had such a good time that we enrolled for a Maori language course!
